Day 3 – 30 Days of Knitting

Do you have any other WIPs (works in progress)?

Oh, honey, yes. I’m not monogamous by a long shot. There’s the Double-Double Cloche in linen,

there’s a pair of stripey socks with silver sparkle in it (Plymouth Stiletto),

a woolen shawl based on a pattern from a book published roundabouts the Civil War era (Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool)….

Those are just off the top of my head, somewhere near my person at this very moment. And once the current incarnation of the Moderne Log Cabin is finished, I have another one (but, the last one for quite a while) to cast on. And after that, at least one baby blanket…no wait, wait, two. I forgot about the second cousin who was just born.
After a semi-purposeful rummage through the yarn bins (and bookcase and invisible yarn corner that somehow continues to pop up next to my nightstand no matter how many times I try to eradicate it), I discovered one sock that really ought to be ripped out and knitted in a pattern that better suits its color variegation, an all-acrylic mohair variant that for some reason seemed a good idea to turn into a lace stole and after four inches I stopped because knitting with sweaty hands is gross, half of a layered flower-petal hat in ropy cotton, a Tessellating Fish afghan in wool that isn’t nearly big enough but the intended recipients felted the last three woolen things I made them so they won’t be getting it, and two unremarkable half-finished woolly hats whose purpose and recipients have been forgotten.

So. Yes, I have many other WIPs.

About crankyfacedknitter

We are a motley collection of cats, cranks, nerds, geeks, hobbyists, humorists, writers, caffeine addicts and one knitter. We have many offspring, but admittedly, most of them are imaginary.
