For the next bonus book, I suffered through Dragon Actually, by G.A. Aiken. Ugh. Oily man-chest on the cover did not make up for ANYTHING. I almost didn’t finish it, and I probably wouldn’t have missed much. This thing got one out of five stars.
This was a Vaginal Fantasy group pick, and somewhere in the many discussions taking place over on GoodReads, someone said, “It’s like the author watched “Dragonheart” once, and thought to themselves, ‘This story could use more nipples. Oh, and for Dennis Quaid to be a woman!'”
This assessment is so very true.
I didn’t find the characters believable, the narrative style annoyed the crap out of me, and the plot seemed purposefully contrived. The dialogue – guh, don’t get me started on the inconsistent dialogue. Do not want.
This was me for most of the book.
