52 in 1: Dickens’ A Christmas Carol And Other Christmas Writings

Week 2: A Christmas Carol And Other Christmas Writings, by Charles Dickens.

I realize my sentence structure is a little fractured and hard to follow, but Messr. Dickens has me thoroughly trounced in that regard. I’m glad I finally read A Christmas Carol, having watched various adaptations of it so many times over the years.

As for the “other Christmas writings,” they are a smattering of short stories and opinion pieces, really. “A Haunted Man and a Ghost’s Bargain” is definitely an interesting piece, and can be a bit hard to follow at times. Perhaps that is simply a quality of Dickens? You really have to pay attention.

I don’t know that I’ll be reading it again anytime soon, especially since the subject matter is Christmas. Still, I’m glad I read it.

Next up, I’m going for Android Karenina. Wish me luck.
