I knew that as soon as I got out of the habit of agonizing over posting every day, I’d disappear again. And so I did. At least I know myself, amirite? But I have progress to report! Just…no pics. BUT. Pics tomorrow.

I finished Citron a while ago, but needed to block (in this case, “kill”) the ruffle at the bottom. DONE, BITCHES. It was a pain in the butt, but I’m glad I did it. It’s now washed, blocked, woven, and ready for photographs.

Bunny slippers are done! I embroidered the faces this afternoon at knitting, after throwing a hissy because the felting did not fix the width problem (still FAR too wide), but shrunk lengthwise and now they are just barely long enough. (I had intended to pinch the toes together at the top to make more of a bunny face, but doing so ate up enough fabric to make them too short. ARRGH. I do not like this pattern; I could not get gauge no matter what I did.) Pics tomorrow (as if the Podling would balk at me taking pictures of him).

I started a new project! (I know, I know…slap me on the wrist if you must.) The Peanut’s little ruffled diaper cover is already too small ’round the thighs (don’t worry, her chubby little thunder thighs are being regularly squished and squeezed and gently pinched for this transgression, as are her cheeks), so I’m whipping up another one out of (what else?) Caron Simply Soft in Iris. I plan to accent it with Blue Mint, and then make one out of the blue and accent it with the purple. GAW-JUS. With the banded tights, there will be cute overflow. Cute spilling everywhere. Pools of cute. A veritable monsoon of cute.

I do intend to begin a pinafore, but I need to check out the pattern I’m reverse-engineering first. It should be more or less straightforward, though there is some sort of tricky bit at the back to give it some stretch. I don’t know if I should link to the pattern, considering I’m not purchasing it myself (I’m a jerk, I know…I’m sorry), but if you care to search it out on Ravelry, the pattern author has named a set of four pinafores after the March sisters. They’re all cute, but I’m particularly fond of the Meg pinafore. Relatively simple…I think.

Flowers-in-Snow/Circle-in-a-Square afghan…ok, here’s the thing. I did the math wrong, and I need 5 more medallions. It’s not a big deal in the scheme of things, but it has thrown a rather large (emotional) wrench into my mental clockwork, and my cogs are grating at the thought of digging the yarn back out of the closet and whipping up a few more. I don’t know why. It’s not the Herculean task I seem to think it will be. I’m so effing close, too! (Except for all the end-weaving-in. I’ll need a strong drink before I tackle that shaggy mess.)

Believe it or not, I also have two socks started (different yarns, different patterns) as well. One a plain vanilla sock in Lana Grossa’s Mega Boot Stretch Sock Yarn, another in Blue Moon Fiber Arts’ Socks That Rock, colorway Goody-Goody (I think?) and the Gumdrops pattern that came in a sock club kit from a few years ago. I’ll take some pictures of that too, while I’m at it, and we’ll have a big ol’ pic-fest.

I have Start-itis and Finish-itis at the same time. These are very conflicting ailments, and the treatment for one aggravates the condition of the other. Curses; there seems to be a pox on me and my knitting. A dark tea-time of the knitting soul, as it were. Woe! I shall go drown my sorrows in peanut butter cups and a lot of hot tea.

Tell me what’s going on with your knitting or crocheting, darlings! Tell me I’m not alone in this harsh world of innumerable WIPs and endless UFO’s?
